Maharashtra added 40 more talukas to its drought-hit list, taking the total affected to 305 of 358 sub-divisions. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said more than 85% of talukas are now drought-hit, and farmers will receive ₹5,000 in bank accounts before Diwali.
