Kochi is facing a drinking water crisis with a current distribution shortfall of 50 to 60 million litres a day. Residents in the northern reaches, including four divisions from Kacheripady to Vaduthala, have been badly affected, while Kadamakkudy, Cheranallur and Chellanam have also reported severe deficits over several weeks.
