Chandigarh’s proposed industrial-area reforms have drawn 162 objections and 15 supporting representations before the screening committee. Stakeholders opposed higher FAR, zoning flexibility, mixed land use and greater construction intensity, and repeatedly asked that infrastructure capacity be upgraded first before allowing more development in the city’s industrial areas.
