Indian equity markets closed higher on Friday, with information technology shares leading the advance after encouraging quarterly earnings. The BSE Sensex gained 413.66 points to 74,729.27, while the NSE Nifty 50 added 148.80 points to end at 23,146.15. Tech Mahindra, Wipro, Infosys and Tata Consultancy Services were among the biggest gainers.
