As Navratri festivities commence, Ahmedabad Police have put extensive high-tech security and traffic management plans in place to ensure a peaceful celebration across the city. With Garba events being organized at over 1,300 neighborhood locations and massive commercial venues hosting 5,000 to 7,000 participants each, security has been stepped up using 4,400 CCTVs and advanced AI-based surveillance systems. The security grid is spearheaded by around 500 senior officers, 14,000 police and home guard personnel, and three companies of the State Reserve Police (SRP). Special focus has been directed toward women's safety, preventing substance abuse, and managing heavy traffic flows during late-night venue dispersions.
