PETA India has urged the Centre to withdraw its proposed animal experimentation rules, saying they could weaken existing protections for animals. The group said the draft Prevention of Cruelty to Animals rules could expose animals to greater suffering in laboratories and allow capture and use of wildlife-protected animals.
