The Municipal Corporation of Delhi has extended the Bhalswa landfill clearance deadline from December 2026 to February 2027, its sixth extension. More than 10 lakh metric tonnes of legacy waste still remain, while 104.40 lakh metric tonnes have already been processed. Officials cited the contract transfer to a new agency at revised rates.
