External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar said at the Bloomberg New Economy Forum that India is uncomfortable being labelled a middle power. He argued that India’s population, economic scale and growth potential make the tag restrictive, and said countries in the middle of the global power structure will need independent policies and shared arrangements.
