Chandigarh Housing Board (CHB) allottees can install lifts in their flats, with the board allowing the use of adjoining govt land wherever it is practically impossible to construct a lift within the building line. The permission, however, will be restricted to CHB-built houses and dwelling units, without transferring ownership of govt land or setting a precedent for other properties.
