A Madurai Corporation Sanitary Inspector was hospitalised on Saturday after being assaulted by a sanitation worker over a work allocation dispute. According to police, Ramesh, 54, the Sanitary Inspector for Ward 54, was confronted by Muthu, a sanitation worker and functionary of the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi Sanitary Workers Welfare Association, regarding work assignments for a colleague.
