An Ahmedabad engineering workshop owner from Vastral lost Rs 6.8 lakh after cyberfraudsters posed as gas officials and warned his piped gas connection would be disconnected over an alleged unpaid bill. The 49-year-old received a WhatsApp message on October 9, then downloaded a malicious mobile application.
