The Supreme Court stayed further trial court proceedings in Maharashtra against Congress MP Rahul Gandhi in a defamation case over his 2019 remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. A bench of Justices Vikram Nath and Aparesh Kumar Singh also issued notices to the Maharashtra government and complainant M H Shrishrimal, seeking replies within four weeks.
