Tamil Nadu ministers P Venkataramanan and V Gandhiraj launched a subsidised fine-rice scheme in Chennai on Saturday. The programme sells rice at Rs 30 per kg through 11 Amutham stores and 19 cooperative stores in the city, with a purchase limit of five kg per consumer or family member. The scheme will extend statewide from Sunday.
