Chilean-American author Isabel Allende won Spain’s €1m Premio Planeta in Barcelona on Thursday, taking the 75th edition of the award under a pseudonym. Her winning novel, La hora antes del alba, revisits characters from The House of the Spirits, her 1982 debut set amid political upheaval.
