Hyderabad women gathered in colourful clothes at colonies, community spaces and apartment cellars on Saturday to begin Bathukamma, Telangana’s nine-day floral festival. The celebrations started with Yengili Poola Bathukamma on Mahalaya Amavasya and will end with Saddula Bathukamma on Oct 18, even as festival costs rose.
