Tamil Nadu minister R Nirmal Kumar said Chennai and neighbouring districts will see pillar boxes raised and more than 1,600 ageing transformers replaced to prevent power disruptions during the monsoon and peak summer demand. He also said smart meter tenders are likely to be deferred by two months for revisions.
