Forester Ethan Tapper has restored 175 acres of degraded woodland in Bolton, Vermont, after buying the property in 2017. He named the land Bear Island. The restoration has created a pond, rich vegetation and a 100-tree orchard on ground damaged by logging, invasive plants and erosion.
