The Gauhati High Court in Guwahati directed the Assam government to submit an updated report on schemes to rejuvenate the Bharalu river. A division bench led by Chief Justice Ashutosh Kumar and Justice Kaushik Goswami heard the suo motu PIL and noted the river’s severe pollution and dense habitation along its banks.
