Jonathan Powell, the UK national security adviser, is facing calls to distance himself from his wife Sarah Helm after she backed novelist Sally Rooney’s support for Palestine Action. Helm wrote in support of Rooney after the Irish author said she had withdrawn her books from UK shelves over the issue.
