Chennai Metro Rail’s new Yellow Line carried 25,474 passengers on Sunday during its first five hours of regular service. The 14.64-km elevated Poonamallee Bypass–Vadapalani stretch, part of Phase II Corridor 4, began commercial operations at 4 pm after inauguration by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
