CHENNAI: Rain has begun in parts of Chennai and its suburbs, with very heavy showers reported around Tambaram on Wednesday afternoon, even as the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC), Chennai, said conditions were favourable for the onset of the northeast monsoon over southern parts of South India.
