Chennai’s state government has assigned eight ministers to oversee rain relief and rescue operations across the city’s 15 zones as heavy monsoon rain warnings continue. Minister Aadhav Arjuna will coordinate flood preparedness and relief measures, and Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay has told the ministers to return to Chennai and speed up response in waterlogged areas.
