Turkish police raided opposition broadcaster Halk TV in Istanbul on Wednesday, taking it off air and arresting 11 people. Staff were unable to enter the building, and authorities appointed a new manager. The move came hours before defence arguments began in the corruption trial of jailed mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu and about 400 co-defendants.
